New m2 Z axis home stops in differnt spot most times

Post by purdum » Sat Oct 31, 2015 8:34 pm

Thanks for your time be gentle I am a total newbee

Just bought 2 new m2s V4 one printed right out of box. Other one hunts for home on the z axis and if I hit 100 or -100 I get the same result down. Gets hung up at bottom and you have to spin the knob to get it started. Some times goes to home at top sometimes stops half way up . Tell it to print and z stops where it wants but not ever in the right spot

That's pretty strange. The new units, as you know from having a working on, home z to the top.

A quick solution would be to open the electronics box. 3 screws on the right side, and locate the Z Axis wire, all the way on the right, almost in the middle. That is the stepper motor. Check the orientation of that wire to the working one, it may be backwards.
