My heater block jammed (Not the nozzle) and I could not find a tutorial on how to fully disassemble it, so I just decided to order a new hot end (V3B).
My MakerGear M2 has a V4 hot end (Or whatever the current ones ship with).
It looks like the V4 hot end mounts and V3B hot end mounts are different and the V3B can't be installed onto the V4 extruder/hot end mount, or am I doing something wrong?
If the V3B can't be installed onto the V4 mount, then could someone tell me where to buy a V4 hot end or how to disassemble the V4 hot end to melt out the jammed plastic from the hot end barrel?
Thanks,
Cyber_Gram

Re: Nozzle and Heater replacement question
The v4 hotend is listed under M series 3d printers in the drop down.
Re: Nozzle and Heater replacement question
No, the v3b and v4 are completely different beasts.
To order the v4, you have to go to the "Upgrades" page, and from there you can order the v4 upgrade (everything) or the v4 nozzle (only). But I'm not at all sure how you can order just the hot-end part of the v4 with the heater block and not the rest of the upgrade.
I'm not sure what you mean by having your heater block jam, but I assume you mean that the jam occured somewhere between the heatbreak and the nozzle.
You can disassemble it by unscrewing the nozzle. However, take note of several posts from people who snapped their hot-ends at the heatbreak: Take the hot-end out of the mount bracket first, and only try to unscrew the nozzle by gripping just the nozzle and the heater block. Don't put any pressure on the thin part of the hot-end assembly.

Re: Nozzle and Heater replacement question
Yeah, sadly they are not interchangeable.
The entire V4 hotend assemblies are located here:
http://www.makergear.com/products/m-series-3d-printers
Information on breaking down the V4 hotend for cleaning is located here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2942
And more information on breaking down the barrel is here:

Be careful taking it apart - it's very easy to break the neck on the V4s.
