V3B Extruder Stalls After a Couple of Inches

Hi Everyone,
I've had my M2 for over 6months now and its been bullet proof till now.....I recently had a nozzle jam for the first time running ABS and had to completely diassemble the extruder to clean it up....I used the following procedure in reverse to clean it out.
http://makergear.wikidot.com/m2-hotend-assembly To clean it out I used a propane torch to clean out the bulk of the barrel and nozzle and finished it off with an acetone soak for 15min.
Put it all back together and I seem to have a problem with only being able to extrude a couple inches of filament before the extruder gear chews into the filament and starts to slip. The motor is turning and the temp on the thermistor is steady at whatever temp I've been trying (between 230 and 245).
Its almost seems like the thermistor can't keep up with the demand of continuous extruding beyond a couple of inches. If that was the case, wouldn't I see a drop in my temp log?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I've tried 3 different brands of ABS and they all react the same.

could you have the filament tension too high?

Cleaning was a good first step, now you need to do some cold-pulls after the acetone soak. I'd recommend Taulman 618 Nylon for it. I bet the inside of your barrel is still covered in gunk and that's making its way down and jamming the hole. With the V3b it's actually easiest if you remove the hotend from the holder to do this. It may take a good 5-10 pulls with Nylon to get it clean, but I've resurrected many a V3b this way.

Hey Guys,
Looks like my problems are solved...After the first time I cleaned the barrel and nozzle from a jam I tried 3 different brands of ABS to test the theory if it was material related or hardware. I must have contaminated it the barrel again like Insta mentioned in his response....After the 2nd cleaning I went with material known to be good and the problem has seemed to have disappeared, at least for a short print. I'll try a long print over night and cross my fingers.
Thanks for the great advice.
BTW, if you're interested to know what material was the source of my headaches, it was 1.75mm Black ABS from WINBO purchased from AMazon this past August but I only recently got around to using it.

You still need to do the cold-pulls

Your barrel is full of ash that will not pass through, it's just a matter of time.

winbo is one of those odd china brands that is extremely dirt cheap. i have never used the abs but i have used a spool of their petg a while back and even though it was just 11 bucks it was actually good stuff. i was pleasantly surprised.
