Corners Have a Raised Edge

I've bought my M2 about 6 months ago and I'm really happy with it so far. One of the issues I'm having is when the nozzle makes a sharp corner it will leave a raised edge around the exterior of the print in that corner. It seems that either the nozzle is overshooting sharp turn or the momentum of the liquefied filament causes it to go a little further before stopping. It appears to be doing it in the X and Y direction. Does this sound like a speed or acceleration issue? Does the acceleration setting control the acceleration AND deceleration? I can upload pics and more setting info if that will help. It happens on multiple different prints. Thanks in advance! I've learned a lot by searching through old posts but wasn't able to find anything like this. I probably wasn't using the right terminology.

PLA
210-215 C
Happens with 70 and 80 mm/sec speed with 60% outline speed
Acceleration reduced to 1500 mm/sec^2
.2mm layer height

Is this the effect you're talking about? If so, it's a matter of cooling. The only time PLA is picky about printing is on the cooling phase, where it wants either gobs or none, and you're somewhere in between.

Check out the Simplify3D print tuning guide. The causes and fixes are generic, but they're going to use their own terminology for the setting to change.

Thanks for the quick response.

It's not at the top, it's along the sides of each layer. Kinda like the nozzle is overshooting it's 90 degree turn but then getting back on track. I'm sure adding a radius to the corners would solve it but just curious if a settings change would help. It's really noticeable on the elephant trunk and foot.

Also just noticed the nasty surface on the elephant ear I just printed. Haven't seen that one before. I believe that's because I have each layer set to start at the origin.

actually the corner is where its supposed to be. its actually low in the area after it makes that turn. its pretty typical on 3d printers after making a direction change. its all part of the ringing effect. if that paw was actually bigger you would see multiple steps like that which would get smaller and smaller. its just from a vibration that travels through the hardware. may of us reduce that a little by lowering the acceleration settings from the default 3000 to maybe 1000-1500 or so. its not a cure-all but it does help a little. the ear could be from a little over-extrusion and or excess heat. over-extrusion would probably slightly increase the effect on the paw as well.

I've got the extrusion calibrated to where I'm getting right at .40 wall thickness for a single wall cube. I'll try backing it down a smidge along with the temp to see if that helps. It's set to 1500 on the acceleration already. I'm getting the similar results at 1000. I don't think I would have gotten the mess on the ear if I didn't have the layer start location set to X=0,Y=0. Let me rephrase that, I would have been able to hide the mess somewhere else if I had the layer start location somewhere else. Thanks for the help.
