24v case fan connection

Post by scampa123 » Sun Jan 24, 2016 7:45 pm

I did my 24v upgrade and the v4 hot end...

I'm through everything except the 24v case fan...

The fan has a connector but my wiring harness never had a connector for that fan. My original 12v fan wires were inserted into the Extruder-1 fan location on the Rambo....

I have a note into Makergear support, but I thought I'd check with the community to see if anyone else ran into this issue...

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to clip off the connector, strip wires and insert into the same location as the old one or do something else.... If I had to do this id prefer to find a male connector with 2 wires to plug into the fan end and then use the other end to insert into the Rambo...as it stands the fan wires are a bit short...

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks!!

The case fan is 12v, and is put in series with the 12v fan that cools the extruder gear.

Does that not apply to your harness?

All the fans in my upgrade kit are 24v

... that was either an oversight on MakerGear's part, or they changed the kit again and didn't tell the rest of us.
