What's the actual, to the .01-inch, size of the bed?

I'm going to have a shop stamping out steel sheets for me to use as print beds, hopefully over lunch. I don't have time to go to my shop and grab a spare glass bed for them to use as a sample. Can anyone give me some dimensions they should target to get a good fit, while still being able to fit a sheet of Buildtak?

How thick is the Build Tak? I use a plate with PEI that measures 253 mm by 202 mm (9.96 inches x 7.95 inches) . The bed itself appears to be 252 mm by 201 mm. (9.92 inches x 7.91 inches)

(Sorry - missed the needing it in inches part)

BuildTak is thin -- about the thickness of Kleenex-box cardboard.

My shop doesn't understand them there high-falutin sissy metric units either. I'm hoping if I tell them 10.00 x 8.00 inch I'll be good.

Yeah, I missed that the first time...did a quick re-calc for you and updated the original reply.

Have them shave a hair off the 8 x 10 just to be on the safe side. The placement of the screws (the determining factor) does just allow a full 8x10, but it might be too close on someone else's machine. I'd go with 1/16 inch less on the top and one side. (7.94 and 9.94 inches)
