Extruder Assembly does circles around HOME corner

Post by JCR_Tech » Sat Feb 13, 2016 6:05 pm

This is not the first time I've used the MakerGear but it is the first time I see the following problem:
1. I select the file from SD Card as normal - to print
2. The Bed heats to 70 Degrees, then the nozzle heats up to 215 Degrees (Would be nice if they can heat up at the same time though)
3. The Bed moves to its "Home" position
4. The Extruder assembly moves all the way to the right quickly, then slowly moves to the left so close to the edge by the Home corner
5. The extruder assembly starts moving in a small circle around that corner so close to the edge
6. I stop the print here because this I realize this is not normal.

Can anyone help?

Post the gcode file, see if it's being commanded to do that.

Sounds to me like the print has been placed at (0, 0). The slicer probably has been told that the origin is at the bed center and not the lower left-hand corner, and so it's trying to start the print at the home position instead of moving out to the bed center.
