I just received a Makergear yesterday. I'm not entirely new to 3D printing, but I immediately had a problem with the first test. The bed was far too close to the nozzle - and immediately clogged it. I *think* I've cleared that, but before I do any further testing - I want to make sure how to level the bed on the Z axis.

Unfortunately, I can't find clear information on the forum or the online videos as to the location of the Z Stop Bolt. There's quite a bit there, but I guess I'm just missing it. The video itself is zooming onto the wrong area, and the manual that comes with it references a number of "Z" features on the printer - is it the Z Stop (Microswitch)?

Sorry if this is jumbled and/or incoherent. I just can't find an easy way to make sure my bed doesn't bump into the nozzle!

Can you take some pictures of the top and bottom of the threaded rod that lifts the bed? I'm looking for near the motor down below (where there might be a switch) or on the underside of the top (where there might be a switch). Please post them as attachments.

Okay, my response disappeared - I'll try again.

Here are the pictures I just took. To be clear, I'm looking for whatever knob/screw/whatever it is I need to turn in order to set the highest point the bed will go.

If you don't want to shift the nut just yet, you loosen the nut on top of the trolley with a 7 mm wrench or a pair of needle nose pliers, while the bed is in a lowered position, then raise it, and turn the bolt with your fingers from underneath the trolley.

Works pretty well, but you have to take the spool of filament off to get to it, if you already loaded it. (Retract filament completely, then remove.)

I know you're not new to 3D printing, but you are new to the M2. There's a Beginner's Guide below that gives pretty clear, step by step instructions for the setup and initial calibrations, and it runs through the steps in order. Might want to give it a look - it might save you time in the long run.

I finally found it, and I adjusted the Z stop to where it should be.

Of course - now I have to deal with what appears to be a clogged nozzle....

The nozzle might not be clogged, if the filament had no place to go it might just be stripped at the gear.

Try retracting the filament all the way out (hit retract and you might have to manually pull it out a bit to get it to start backing out), cut off a few inches, then feed it back in and see if that works.

I've retracted (cut it off) and then extruded a couple of times - but it's still curling up. I think I'll contact support, I'm getting a wee bit frustrated at this point..!
