A print messed up and before I knew it melted plastic go up around the nozzle area, inside the little black.. cover? Actually, I'm not even sure how to describe this because I don't know the names of these parts so here are a couple of pictures.

I tried looking up some resolutions to this, like a guide of some sort, but I don't know even how to describe it. Looks like I'm going to need another black cover thing.. where do I buy those?

My main question is, how do I remove the nozzle to clean around inside? Because there's still some white melted filament in there as seen in this picture. I circled it in red.

Do I just turn it to make it drop and then tighten it back in there? Or does it get way more complicated than that?

(Heat the nozzle back up and retract the filament completely before you detach the hot end.)

That little cover can be ordered from MakerGear, but it doesn't look damaged to me. Just scrape or cut as much of that plastic off as you can, pop it in the oven on a foil lined tray and bake it for a while then wipe,scrape it off again. (Not a bad idea to order a whole spare hot end, just to have on hand though.)

Spare Parts over on the MakerGear.com site. It's the rubber coated fiberglass insulation.
