Got some filament near/inside the nozzle? (pictures inside)

A print messed up and before I knew it melted plastic go up around the nozzle area, inside the little black.. cover? Actually, I'm not even sure how to describe this because I don't know the names of these parts so here are a couple of pictures.

I tried looking up some resolutions to this, like a guide of some sort, but I don't know even how to describe it. Looks like I'm going to need another black cover thing.. where do I buy those?
My main question is, how do I remove the nozzle to clean around inside? Because there's still some white melted filament in there as seen in this picture. I circled it in red.

Do I just turn it to make it drop and then tighten it back in there? Or does it get way more complicated than that?
