What is the purpose of the binder clip?

Post by AndyB » Sun Jun 26, 2016 7:10 pm

My new M Series 3D Printers M2 3D Printer came with one binder clip. What is the purpose of this clip?

Free office supplies! :D

(It clamps the glass to the HBP so that the parts do not shift and rub during transport, and forces people to read the paper, since it has to be removed before use.)

Hi Jules,

So if I understand correctly, after I mount the platform I can remove and discard the binder clip.

Thank you.

Absolutely. (Or use it on a report.) :D

The new machines have built in clips at the corners that hold the plate down.

If you haven't seen it yet, there's a Beginner's Guide for your machine here:

You may want to keep it and use it as a filament dust wiper:

It's mentioned in Section 3 "Improving Print Quality", item 12 of the beginner guide and points to this link:

Oooh! Yeah, I'd forgotten that (mine are printed) but it does make a dandy filament dust wiper as well! :D
