Extrusion issue

I had been successfully using the PLA provided with the M2 for about a week. Today When I tried to print from a file I have printed 3 times before the extruder stopped extruding after the first couple of layer.

The motor is turning the filament just ins't moving. My best guess so far is that the gear is stripping the filament smooth rather than just biting into it and moving it along.

So far I have taken the mount around the extruder off and cleared out any debris.
adjusted the roller pressure on the filament at the gear.

As far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be any additional drag on the filament making it hard to the gear to pull it along. I am hoping this is a super common problem that I just couldn't find any posts on.
Any thoughts? I'd be happy to provide any additional information that may be helpful.

Andy

You might need to unclog the hotend.

If you follow this advice make sure you use a long hex key or hold it with something as it will heat up quickly.
