Hello,

I'm learning Fusion 360. What a wonderful program.

My question is how can I cut and remove the top right portion of this curved cylinder? I would like to have the top right be at a 20 degree angle.

Thank you.

Someone who is better at design than me im sure will give a better answer, but the way i would tackle this,
Extrude the plane you have at 20 degrees and then subract it from the original.

Example video here.

Hopefully that will help a bit.

I've got to this point, but can't delete the small piece without it reverting back to before I made the cut.

The Remove command did it.

Starting over, this time using the Pipe command.

Question, how can I get the bottom of the pipe to sit flat on the red line?

The way I would do it:

Create a construction plane at the angle and location you want the cut (you've managed to do that already, I see).
Modify->Split body, select the body and use the construction plane as the tool.
And as you've also discovered, right click the stub body in the components list and use Remove instead of delete.

For your pipe, same thing. Extend the pipe entirely below the Z plane by some distance, then split the body using the workplane. You don't need to make a construction plane, you may need to turn on the Origin visibility to see it.

Thank you, jsc.

I was able to move rotate the pipe by creating a rectangle and using the align tool.

This sure is fun. Fusion 360 is a powerful tool.
