Y axis not homing

Post by MagicEngineer » Wed Aug 10, 2016 9:33 pm

This just recently started. My Y axis won't home when the print begins. I can work around this problem by lining up the nozzle with the edge of the bed before starting the print. But it is still a bit annoying. Also when I hit home Y in S3Ds "Jog Controls" tab it just seems to move the bed by about 10mm. Is this possibly just a setting i screwed up somewhere?

There's a setting in S3D (Jog Controls) next to the Position Readout that resets the Zero values for X, Y and Z. If you accidentally hit it instead of the Emergency Stop (or for some other reason) it is possible to redefine your Home value.

OK I got it. It turns out that the micro switch wasn't opening. I squirted some contact cleaner in it and that seems to have fixed it.
