I've been recalibrating and I did the cube without the top. Z bottom and got it to .40mm...but when doing the solid square I'm not getting a smooth top taker...Any thoughts?

Thx!

My settings:

PETG
Filament Dia 1.87
Ext Multi: .70
Extr Width Manual: .40

Number of top layers?
Infill?

Top Solid Layers 3
Infill 100%

That's at 100% infill? (Serious underextrusion problem.)

What should I do to up the extrusion? I had calibrated with the square without the infill to .40mm

Most Filament is 1.75mm, so 1.87 does not make sense, unless it is way out of spec.

With that said, the extrusion multiplier should be about .86 - .89. Your's is too low.

Yeah....try 1.75 mm diameter and 0.90 for the extrusion multiplier. (You might find it doesn't impact the wall thickness much.)

That seemed to work much better!! Thank you!!!

So that worked for the overall calibration square but I noticed something odd...

I'm basically printing a rectangle, a base for a circuit board, and what I am getting on the initial outlines are dots vs a smooth line...hopefully the picture helps:
