Print Boundaries Explained?

Post by w22 » Sat Nov 05, 2016 7:52 pm

This relates to an earlier post I made regarding the maximum print height for a MakerGear M2 & Simplify 3D (please see attached).

I wanted to know if Simplify 3D will inform me if my print is too far beyond print parameters going off the bed but above the first layer that the print exceeds the bed width?

I know it does if the base is too big but am unsure about anything else.

Aside from the fact that it visually extends beyond the boundary planes shown....i don't think so.

It is hard to tell from the screenshot, but it looks to me that you could make it fit within the printable area by rotating the model so the pointed end is in the corner and the round end in the other corner.
