Vase Ridges/Seams

I am not sure how to articulate this. I am trying to figure out why a vase I designed has consistent ridges around it. Please take a look at my screen shots.

Is this a function of the model rendering or the slicer?

It's your render. You don't have enough triangles for a smoother edge.

Facets, that was the word I was trying to think of. Thank you Insta.

Rhino3D allows me to increase triangles (tolerance) when exporting to STL, but Sketchup, a free application I am trying out, does not give any option to do this.

That is not the first reason to never use Sketchup again for 3D modelling. Seriously just go back to Rhino or one of the dozen other 3D modelling applications. Just ... please ... anything but Sketchup.

Yep, I am going back to Rhino. Didn't realize that Sketchup was a stinker for 3D modeling. Glad I haven't put much time or money into it.
