I Think I Killed Rambo (board) !

I've been having problems with my extruder not heating up. It will work fine sometime but not others. I suspected a loose connection or bad wire someplace so I set about testing with a multi-meter to find the problem. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention and had my leads plugged in wrong and when I went to check the connection where the "HEAT 0" wires are plugged into the RAMBO board there was a spark and all the LEDs on the board went dark. I'm afraid my carelessness and ignorance is going to cost me the price of a new board (ouch) but before I pay my stupid tax I was wondering if there is anything I can do/test/replace that might be easier and cheaper!
TL;DR - shorted the extruder power on my RAMBO board. How do I know for sure I need to replace the board?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
