difficulty passing through hot end

Hello,
I notice that when I feed flexible filament through my extruder it moves very well as it passes through extruder and as soon as it enters the hot end it slows down greatly.
Sometimes I need to push the material manually to help it along.

Do you think this is a problem with my nozzle or hotted?

Should I try removing nozzle and cleaning or replacing?

I have been having problems with prints lately and feel this may be a contributor.
I just ran some cleaning filament through and noticed it wouldn't pass well although the extruder was feeding smoothly until it hit the hot end.

thanks!

You may just be trying to feed it to quickly... flex filament should be printed at a slower rate... I run at 30 mm/s.

If your having problems with other filament though you may need to clean the nozzle as it might be forming a partial clog.

Double click on the process (lower left window it should say "Process1") then click the "others" tab and change the Default printing speed. If yours is set up mm/min rather than mm/s try "4800 mm/min.

thank you, for flexible materials like ninja flex, do you think it helps to use a wider nozzle?
I am using .35

is that 180 mm/minute since that would be 30 mms/ second?

sorry that was a typo it should have read 1800 not 4800.... 30 mm/sec = 1800 m/min

Also, when you are feeding/priming using the jog console only move 1mm at a time, 10mm at a time will cause a mess. It's too fast.
