Re: connector for hot end fan
Thank you, I just ordered a pair, and how do you affix the wire into the othe end?
Re: connector for hot end fan
Crimp on a pin or socket and just insert it into the connector. A small pair of needle nose pliers will work to crimp it. Its a one shot deal. Once its inserted you need the tool to remove it
Re: connector for hot end fan
Thank you what are the specs of the pin? And where do I find them? I don’t have them in my own lab so I probably will have to buy some.
Re: connector for hot end fan
Right in my post
Re: connector for hot end fan
Thanks i’ve already ordered from the other company and shipping is 20 times more than the part they’ve already processed the order, is there anywhere else to buy the Pins such as RadioShack or another electronic store?
Re: connector for hot end fan
Just other places like newark. Mouser or digikey etc. try typing the part # in on ebay. There are probably sellers there
Re: connector for hot end fan
You can buy all the pieces from Digikey, and their shipping charges are generally lower than Newark:
Connector Body: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=43020-0201 (32 cents each)
(Two position plug, top latch)
Pin Contacts: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?key ... 43031-0008 (24 cents each)
Socket Contacts: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=43030-0008 (24 cents each)
Other Connectors:
https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=43645-0200 (2 pin horizontal receptical, side latch)
https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=43025-0200 (2 pin vertical receptical)
https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=43640-0201 (2 position plug, side latch)
The contacts are supposed to be installed with a fancy crimper, but the official Molex crimpers can cost more than $300, and you need one for each sex of contact. You can do an OK job with a pair of pliers, but if you think you may do a lot of mods or repairs, a proper crimp tool is really useful and cheap general purpose hand ones are available. I've used one of these on similar connectors, and I'm sure they will work much better than pliers for the Molex pins as well:
