Annoying Rattle

Post by steve220 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 1:46 pm

I'd appreciate thoughts on an annoying rattle or buzzing I'm hearing. It comes and goes with little rhyme or reason that I can ID. I've replaced the fans, so have eliminated them as a source. It sounds like it is coming from the extruder motor. There do not appear to be any ill effects to the print at all.

I've recorded the noise as it comes and goes:

I've had similar noises on my printers it was always from vibrating washers...

Check the ones (#4's in picture) in between the fan and the fan guards and see if that is where your noise is coming from.

I agree Check the washers. the vibration of the machine can sometimes work things loose, If that doesn't seem to fix the issue, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@makergear.com. We would be happy to help track down the issue.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The washers are tight. I switched filament and the issue went away. I switched back and the issue came back. Seems weird that it could be filament related.
