Flexible filament not extruding M3

Post by AndyNav » Wed Dec 06, 2017 11:48 pm

I finally got around to trying to print flexible filament on the M3 and it seems to have a very hard time extruding. With the SainSmart TPU and with NinjaFlex (more so Ninja Flex) the drive gear for the filament just fails to advance the filament forward. It is not grinding the filament like you might expect with an ABS or PLA, but the filament just seems to be too slick and or soft for the gear to grip it.
I tried all sorts of variations of the screw on the filament drive (that changes the gap between the gear and the bearing) with little to no effect.

Any thoughts?

How fast are you trying to feed/print it?

I started at 4800mm/min and worked my down to around 3000mm/min with the first layer at 1200mm/min.

I'd try going slower... I print flex stuff at 30mm/sec (1800 mm/m) some people will even recommend slower than that.
