M2 z-endstop exceeded after triggering

Hi,
I reloaded firmware '11-30-2015 Marlin' on my printer and now the z-endstop is triggering but not stopping the bed. I confirmed that the endstop is triggering with the command M119. When the bed moves into position to start a print, it rises and continues past the z-endstop (which also illuminates RED) until a grinding sound is heard. The platform then drops to its lowest position and the printer starts printing 10" from the platform. I am using simply3D as the slicer program. Does anyone have any thoughts?
