Anchor Printing off of the edge of the print bed.

Post by jakepolson71 » Sun Apr 20, 2014 1:03 pm

Whenever my print begins and it goes to print the anchor, the anchor is extruded off the side of the print bed - I have to have blue tape in that spot or the hot filament would fall right on top of my electronics box. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix?

Thanks,
Jake

Are you using simplify 3d? If so, at the start of each print the default behavior is to move off the side of the bed and purge the nozzle. It's intentional in order to clear the nozzle and get the filament flowing. I just catch it with a paper towel and use some tweezers to make sure it's completely off the nozzle before the print begins.

I just let it fall. It's fine, by the time it gets to the box it has cooled enough to be solid. It's not going to stick or cause any damage. I, too, like to use tweezers to make sure it's flowing freely, though.

Yeah, I'm using Simplify3D - I'll just keep using a small piece of tape to catch it or a piece of paper towel on top of the electronics box where it'll hit.

Thanks guys!
