cooling supliment

Post by makeal » Sat Dec 15, 2018 3:43 pm

Hello all

I print in pla and notice that back side of my prints is not getting enough cooling. I swapped my m2 fan for m3 style cooling and that helped but still has ways to go. I've seen people recommend getting desktop fan and putting it in the back of the printer. What would be a good fan to use? not sure which one to get. any recommendations?

thank you

Hi Makeal,
What do you interpret in your prints as symptom of not-enough cooling? I feel I get close to perfect prints with my stock M2, the glass plate, tape, glue-sitck, and Esun PLA, using Simplify3d 4.0 with settings I'll share with you if you'd like.

Hi jferguson - usually i get back of the prints that don't look as good as front of the print.

I just did a all in one 3d printer test and noticed that front where cooling reaches looks good but back of it doesn't. i also get little stringing on the back of the print.

Here is a link to the pictures i took https://photos.app.goo.gl/z94jTkHkzQoFpQtx8

I would definitely love to try your settings, thank you
