Firmware Origin Dual

Post by CCRN » Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:03 pm

Hello,

I checked my printer firmware origin today to see if 0,0,0 is in a printable area of the bed. I used the following G-Code

Code: Select all

G28
G1 X0 Y0 Z0 F3000
The results shows the print head off the bed and in the corner of the clip area. I suspect this is due to the roughly 31.1 x offset for a dual extruder setup.

Is this what allows the slicer, ie S3D to let me print outside the printable area. Ideally, I would like the firmware to keep me out of non-printable areas with the T0 extruder.

Thanks

Jerold

Way back when I did the experimental dual extruder upgrade for my M2 I believe I ran into the issue you're talking about and solved it by designing a replacement belt clamp that would set the X=0 location so that the left nozzle would be on the bed.

I posted the design for it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:506384
