Tips for Replacing Filament Drive Gearbox Pinion?

My pinion gear is getting a bit worn, and I have a replacement. I've seen various comments that they may be installed with an adhesive. At a minimum it's probably going to require a tiny gear puller, maybe along with some heat.

Any recommendations on a puller the right size? If I need to apply heat, I've had good luck putting things under tension & then heating them with a soldering iron. Most bearing retainer/threadlocker compounds let go a a few hundred degrees F, which is easy for a soldering iron, a lot safer than a torch, and much more pinpoint than a heat gun.

Thanks!
