Why can't I reply to posts?

But I've tried several times to reply to posts and my messages don't seem to get posted.
I'd ask this of an administrator, but I also can't find a way to contact them.
Help!!!

Ok... So I can reply to posts in this section.
So why can't I reply to posts in the "General Discussion" section? It says my posts need to be approved by an administrator, but then they never get posted.

i think you may be in probation mode until you have made a few initial posts (or until such time as some other requirement is fulfilled). this is to prevent spam bots from doing their thing.

That makes sense, as long as an Administrator actually let some posts get posted.
So far that isn't happening...

yeah this forum is relatively new and i don't think they've had time to sort out anyone to help approving posts.

it does happen but rick handles the forum and approves first posts. he posted just the other day that there has been pages of spam that needs to be filtered through. your post could have easily gotten lost in the shuffle. im sure rick is a busy guy. maybe its time to appoint a moderator to help lighten the load

Moderating/Admin a message board requires a lot of time.
In my case, I have to read every post and OK new member's first couple of posts.
Spammers love getting inside, because they have a captive audience. Bots can read capcha code
with the funny wavy letters. I went to a question for new members to sign up with at my phpBB board.
My question is Boston Red: ___ with Sox being the answer. This stops the people hired to spam
as they for the most part do not know USA baseball teams, or would spell it socks.

The first few posts are moderated to weed out spammers. The board is getting hit with dozens of daily spam attempts. It is much worse than the spam on the google group.

Looks like I can't reply to posts either. When I send stuff I get a message that the post needs to be approved, but this just doesn't seem to happen. Folk have asked some questions about my first post and I can't respond in a timely fashion. Would someone please either moderate my replies so I can build up a history or provide me with approval so I can post in a reasonable time-frame. Ta, ob1
