S3D m2 settings for v4 hotend vs v3b?

Post by cc19 » Sun Aug 16, 2015 6:15 am

hello all!
Excited to have just gotten a new M2 with a v4 hotend!

I see S3D does NOT have default settings for an M2 with the 24v v4 hotend... only the M2 with 24v v3b hotend.
Would that setting be ok? or is there something I should be modifying to the v3b hotend defaults?

Thanks ahead of time!

You can take the temperatures down about 5 to 10 degrees with the V4 over the v3 - it stays hotter. Just do some experimenting with each filament to determine your optimum printing temps. (You can usually print at the lower end of the temperature range for the filament.)

Although generally printing it a little hot does nothing more than increase stringing, so if you want to start with the defaults, it's no biggie. :D
