Just ordered my M2

Post by BillCollins » Tue Feb 16, 2016 11:35 pm

Never used a 3D printer in my life. Just ordered the M2 with a bunch of extras. Be prepared they say. I have read a lot of faq's on here and know getting things going smoothly will be a process. Any advice is welcome and appreciated. I am planning on having the printer on a steel table sitting on concrete for stability. The biggest obstacle that I see is leveling the printer. I am sure a little hands on and trial and error will make it a little less intimidating. Cant wait to get this baby fired up!!

Oh, good! You're doing it the right way for sure! (Both choosing the M2, and getting started learning before it arrives.)

Your printer is going to arrive leveled, but there are a few things you'll need to do to get it set up. We put together a Beginner's Guide that you can download and read at your leisure while you wait:

You don't have to go crazy with stabilizing the M2. What's important is the relative positioning within the frame of the extruder.
