I've had my M2 for a while and bought the v4 extruder a while back. My month for my v3b broke and I decided to just go ahead and install the v4. I have and leveled my bed but I think the z depth is off. On my prints the filament isn't sticking to bed but gathering around the tip like a rat's nest. I adjusted the z stop using a card to where the nozzle just started to catch on it but it is still doing the rat's nest around the nozzle head. Any suggestions?

Yeah, the Cold Set method using a business card is unfortunately the least accurate method. (Different thicknesses of cards.)
If you have a set of Metric Feeler gauges, set the Z-stop using a gauge of from 0.15 mm to 0.20 mm, while the nozzle and bed are at printing temperatures.

(It's a heck of a lot easier now to set the Z-Stop for the V4 nozzles if you have a gauge - you don't have to mess with the Z-stop bolt any more.)

We've got it written up in the Beginner's Guide (which is not just for beginners) - The Z-Stop is Item number 6 in the guide.

After you have reset the Z-Stop, it's very important to adjust the starting point using the Z-Offset, as written up below:

Those two steps will get you an excellent starting point for your prints.

What do you mean with the V4? Just how less bulky it is? Can you adjust the nozzle height?

No, it has to do with the mount for the V4 and the shape of the hot end. If you will read in that guide - there is a separate Hot Set method for the Z-Stop on V4 nozzles. Much easier.

Yeah, after posting that I went through them and got the printer up and working. Did a calibration test and setting up a couple of other things right this second.
