HI Guys,

I still kind of new to 3d printing, but really liking my M2. My son plays soccer, and I thought it would be really cool if I could create some mini soccer cones for him, Can anyone help me out on how to get started with something like that ? I've never done any modeling on my own, so I don't really know where to get started...

What I have in mind is something like below :

Step one: pick a 3D modeler. I'm partial to Fusion 360, because it's powerful and free for hobbyists. Also OnShape. You have a large number of options there.

If you are using a modeler that uses traditional sketches and extrusions, it is a simple matter to draw a sketch of a section through one radius of your ring, then revolve it 360 degrees to get your cone.

If you want to get something up and running very quickly, without perhaps the most control of the shape, check out tinkercad.com's Ring shape generator.

Once you have your model, if the cone angle is higher than about 60 degrees, you will need to print the whole thing stuffed with support unless you split it in half down the middle and print it in two parts, to be glued together.
