UPS Power

Post by CCRN » Mon Jun 06, 2016 1:59 pm

I was considering using a spare UPS to power my M2. Is this advisable and are others using a UPS with their M2? I didnt see any mention of using a UPS in the beginner guide.

Thanks,
Jerold

No reason not to if you have the room for it. :D

A pretty light weight UPS can supply a Printer. At full load a printer draws 300W and while printing, around 100W. UPS's are only good for about 10 minutes total so consider that if the power goes out for more than a few seconds to minutes, the print will be lost. But if you have frequent brown-outs, then a UPS is a great choice.

I have a spare so I plan to use it to mitigate brownouts/flickers which are rare but do occur.

Thanks for the responses,
Jerold
