Pronterface vs Simplify 3D?

I have just assembled an M2 kit with the LCD controller. I've gone through the initial setup, calibration & test print without a hitch. Thge next step is to get a slicer, and i've decided to splurge on Simplify 3D.

I know Pronterface and Simplify 3D are very different programs, but if I need to do something like run the extruder in reverse to change filaments, can I do that entirely through Simplify 3D, or do I need a control package like Pronterface as well? As best I can tell, I can't do it through the LCD interface.

Thanks!

S3D has a Machine Control Panel (Tools > Machine Control Panel > Jog Controls) that will allow you to control the extruder directly (extrude/retract) as well as all other motors. No other package is needed.

Thanks! That's what I expected, but couldn't verify easily.

One less software package to learn...
