I was having a hard time navigating the OctoPrint web based interface of the M3, when I realized that using Firefox I was seeing a lot more information. For examples, icons were missing for settings, systems, icons to load, delete, and print the STL files. I also got a note that updates were available, but it would fail to load under Safari. I managed to upgrade using Firefox, but in Safari the icons were missing.

Using an older Mac with macOS 10.11, Safari could display the icons.

Is there a setting I need to change in Safari?

I figured it out. It was due to a customer style sheet setting in Safari. By selecting No Style Sheet in Safari->Preferences under Advanced, solved the problem
