Also, you can try the "mold-lay" filament, or eSUN's equivalent, eMorph, which are supposed to be the solution that does have the give of a silicone mold. But they are very low-temperature filaments, so the mold would only be good for use at near room-temperature, like plaster.

Coincidentally, I just made some molds with my MakerGear this week. Patterns were 3d printed for Sandcasting as well as font and back halves of a core box to form a sacrificial core so that the final part would be hollow. It was poured in aluminum yesterday, came out great. I think I generated a few more MakerGear customers as well. Cheers, c

I hope to be doing my casting in latex, so a rigid mold should work fine.
