SD3 Asking for Hot End Type

Post by advsign » Fri Aug 15, 2014 4:19 pm

Hello,
I have not fired up my printer in 9 months. Today I opened SD3 and upgraded. It asked what type of hot end do I have. How do I know this? I made the purchase in March 2013

Regards,
Ken

Hi Ken,

You have the V3a hot end with 19V and 12V power supplies. The newest M2s have the V3b hot end with the single 24V power supply.

Is anyone else having issues with it asking what hot end every single time you open it? Is there a screen or options page I am missing?

It should only ask if you don't exit cleanly.
From my experience on both the linux and windows versions, it stores the settings when you cleanly exit the program.
If the program crashes or hangs and you force kill it, your settings will not be saved. If it's not saving your settings, since SD3 is a premium paid program: I wouldn't hesitate to contact their customer support if you're having an issue with it.
