Actually, mastering LOGO is a good first step towards mastering G-code....

Yeah i have read all that before. I am not one to be pro microsoft by any means as i am a mac guy but i dont find any of those things any different than what any other companies are doing. Targeted ads is completely normal. It happens on everything. We also all know to never leave the default settings no matter what your installing. Too many boxes automatically have a check box in them.

For the POP mail configuration. There is something special you have to set in DNS to enable auto configuration of mail servers. I don't remember the specifics, but I'm sure you could find it without much trouble. Of course, this assumes you (or a sysadmin) can modify the DNS.

OpenSCAD and S3D run great on Linux Mint. Have to use Windoze for work, but LM17 just rocks for 3D printing at home. Plus I have VMWare workstation on my Mint machine for those times I just HAVE to run Windoze. With Mint taking up only about half a G of RAM, I can run virtual machines on my E6500 laptop at home about as fast as on my workstation at work. Helps to boot from an SSD, plus have a 1 TB 7200 RPM platter spinning in the media bay to hold the images...

So, Windows? Bah! Mac? Humbug!

I upgraded three of mine last weekend and it went very well.

My workstation was kind of weird but Dell had a firmware upgrade that took care of it. Laptop no issues at all, wife's computer no issues either.

I like the new Windows, has some bugs in some of the apps they need to tighten up, and Cortana can be weird sometimes. But otherwise it was a great upgrade experience. I kind of like the new browser too, but still hanging on to Chrome and Firefox.

I'm dying to get the Surface 3 but the price keeps scaring me off.
