Your best bet is to contact Solidworks directly and ask about the ownership transfer to check if there are strings attached.
I owned an $8000 piece of software and was unable to sell it for a reasonable rate because the company required transfer fees, reenrollment in tech support subscription, and even actual paperwork sent in by me to allow the transfer. They also required the new owner to upgrade to the latest version-just a .5 upgrade, nothing huge.
Can you guess what the price would be to the new owner once all transactions were complete?
You guessed it, $8,000.
