Is anyone here using Creo for solid modeling? I ask because I would be interested in getting some observations on its applicability to 3d printing.

I love Creo - been a PTC user for 25 years, although have been on SolidWorks more lately at the day job. Creo seems particularly good at exporting clean, smooth, efficient STL files. Even if I model in SW, I will export a STEP file to Creo and create the STL file from there. I enter zeros for both the Chord and Angle inputs - Creo changes the Chord the the minimum value it will process. I don't use the STEP setting.

For the same model, the stl files from SW are huge by comparison and take far longer to slice than the Creo files.
