For some odd reasons that STP files downloaded from Makergear Github won't import into Soildworks 2017 SP1, it gets incomplete file error message. But I have no problem importing STP files from my clients. Any suggestions for workarounds?

Which file was it? I can test it on an older version of SW to see if that works or maybe covert it using Onshape.

I'm having problem with all of them, I randomly selected 6 STP files from different upload years. None can be imported into Solidworks and all has the same incomplete file error message. My Solidworks default file paths are set correctly.

It could be how your downloading them.. I've had trouble with that in the past. (I just right click on the Raw button and "Save as".)

I'm not home so I don't have access to Solidworks right now to see if they open but give the attached files a try. I was able to open them in Onshape and then convert them.

.STP = Ones Downloaded from Github
.STEP = Converted in Onshape
.SLDRT = Converted in Onshape

Thanks a lot, sthone. Saving it from RAW did the trick, I was saving it via right click Save as from the parts list.
