stringing with the standard settings

Post by Mazhdulin » Wed Jan 10, 2018 5:13 pm

Hi all,

I performed the CTRLV V3 test for the M3ID and the issue I encountered most is stringing,
Now I know I should fiddle with the retraction settings, but as I'm really new I don't know how much or which settings.
I'm using al the basic settings and PLA from makergear. 0.1mm layers. speed 50mm/s or 100mm/s not much difference there.
Can someone give an me a headstart based on the pictures of the part?:

Even if you do not use S3D this is a great guide for learning how to fix all the issues that may arise ... https://www.simplify3d.com/support/prin ... eshooting/

I am about 4 days ahead of you.. I had my white PLA out using it for a few day in about 50% humidity before doing the simple string test model I found online and I has some fin strings.. Cranked the retraction speed way up and was better. I then ordered a Presto Food dehydrator and ran the pla in it over night at 140F. Reset retraction to default on S3D and all the strings were gone..
I will point you to a couple of thread I just started for set your extrude multiplier and fixing some other defects.. and some I am still working on.

If you have not gotten your layer height and extruder multiplier set correctly yet read over this and start printing single walled boxes.. I will attache a couple of slt files if it lets me
