Bed stops heating

Post by Artenen » Tue Mar 24, 2015 1:52 pm

Suddenly for no reason my bed will no longer heat. I checked for loose wires, reset the program and then printer and nothing...

Any suggestions?

check the fuse on the rambo? check the red plug connecting the hbp. make sure you dont see anything melted. the 12/19v machines could melt the connection in the plug where the power supply connects to the rambo. check that its not melted or black connections. if everything there is ok then i say you have a break in a wire going from the hbp to the rambo. flexing back and forth over time can cause breaks inside the wire itself.

Check the bed thermistor, if the RAMBo doesn't see a valid temp it will refuse to heat. Happened to me once.

Every time I ran in to this it was the PSU to Rambo connection melting down. On round 3 I said screw it and soldered the 12v wires directly to the Rambo and used a terminal block to make it overbuilt yet removable. No issues since.

It was a split wire, missed it the first go round as the heat shielding was still holding.

Where was the split wire? I am having the same issues as my M2 will record all the values properly, but not heat up at all.

It failed right by the deans connector (the red connector right off the bed). I ended up just hard wiring it as every time I'd fix it, it would fail someplace else down the line because of the movement.

Yeah mine failed after the female and male connection because of the movement. Makergear replaced it under warranty very quickly. Tips to their customer service as always!
