On Windows if you log out of your account when you restart it requires you to log back in. If you exit S3D while logged in and then disable networking (put my laptop into Airplane mode) S3D will restart without prompting for a login or having a problem. So the login is persistent across sessions and doesn't need to phone home, but being logged in is a requirement.

I really think the new requirement to be both logged in and have your installation activated isn't cool. Now if you could have installations on multiple machines, but only use the one that was logged in, then that would be useful to me since I've got 2 personal laptops (Thinkpad and Surface Pro 3) and my wife has S3D installed on her laptop, but hardly ever uses it.

I think the best feature they ever did was the horizontal size compensation. I often use it on -0.1mm and it makes parts that I designed for CNC machining fit or thread together as printed parts.

The slicing speed improvement and memory leak rank one and two....the retraction wipe seems awesome as well..

I loaded an STL and it said "Cannot auto-arrange, largest part exceeds build dimensions."

This is a part that was working fine in 2.2.2.

Then it crashed.

MacOS.

Wiggle is not interesting but the triangle and honeycomb are good. I was simulating triangle anyway by having the infill rotation alternate by 60 degrees each layer.

it only asks you to login if you have internet access and your logged out. if i log out, shut down s3d, disconnect the network cable then restart it will not as to log back in. so you can run it no problem with no internet access. if there is nothing being sent back and forth then im not sure why its necessary to be logged in or out at all but whatever. either way it doesnt affect the operation of the software so i guess it really doesnt matter.

One thing I hope got sorted out in 3.0 is the time estimating for each print. it seems to be consistently 50% longer than what is estimated. Also, the pre-print prep likes to stall in the "heating extruder" segment and I have to kill the print and then restart it which usually clears it up

i dont think they can do anything with the time. its all over the board. some people get results that are slow, some are fast and all at different rates that vary with the print. i am consistently 20-40% longer to print than what it says.

Ugh!, me too, which is a PITA when you're just waiting for that print to finish up before hitting the sack.
