I am glad they finally updated and added much needed support. Here is my Tree frog done with simplify3d v3.0.

kazolar, can you zip up a factory file that demonstrates your issues so we can see? I'm curious to see what triggers your issues.

I figured to give 3.0 another shot.
I saved the factory file -- I want to do a double process

with Standard PLA process and BseForSupport process -- the idea is to have a good smooshed layer at the bottom of the support structure without using a raft -- you'll understand if you look at the settings -- so -- v 2.2.2 handles it fine v3 -- din't just not handle it -- it crashed

ok, support inflation distance is broken between 2.2.2 and 3.0 -- it does what it should in 2.2.2 -- and support comes out wonky in version 3.0 -- it decides not generate it in places where as version 2.2.2 works fine ...

I am glad they added dual extruder support and when I make that upgrade I may start using it, but it appears to be broken to me for normal use

i dont think they can do anything with the time. its all over the board. some people get results that are slow, some are fast and all at different rates that vary with the print. i am consistently 20-40% longer to print than what it says.

A step in the right direction would be to delete the time estimate. It's of no value, and makes one wonder about the credibility of other aspects of their software.

I must agree, I'm happy with S3D overall but the time estimates are consistently 20% low or more (there seems to be a correlation that the longer a print the higher the underestimation is).

I have to ask a question about how the Bed Leveling Wizard works

Many of us ignore the S3D bed leveling wizard entirely. The 3-point design of the bracket holding the glass plate and bed heater on the M2 makes it most convenient to just put the nozzle directly on top of each of those three points in sequence, and the adjustment of each one doesn't affect the position of the others. Although I haven't done it, it's probably worth writing a macro in S3D that will move the extruder to the first of these points (or maybe to the center position between the front and back points). All the points are separated by 5 and 10 cm, so it's really easy to manually jog to each one. I can't vouch for everyone's experience, but I seem to have a pretty flat and even glass plate, and if those three points are spot-on, the bed is as level as it's going to get.

I find the time estimate valuable even if it's 20% off, at least it gives me SOME idea of scale how long it'll be.

I agree with sprior, even though its not all that accurate, it still gives some kind of indication of how much time you can expect to be printing.

some things i've noticed about the new version are that now instead of getting zits all over my part, I have them all in a straight line, and they're much more noticeable in size. not exactly an improvement lol. also, I cant say that I've paid attention to this since I upgraded so it may have been an issue with the previous version but my dimensions aren't consistent. it seems that a tiny hole needs to be compensated for big time (+15%) but large holes are spot on, and the perimeter seems to be pretty close. Either way, since the only adjustment is in mm its not of much use to me.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to print portions of a print at a specified resolution and another portion in a different res? if not, that might be a handy option.
