Printing Super Slow
Printing Super Slow
Hey guys, so I'm trying to print a puzzle box that opens when you spin it. The problem is, it prints it super slow. I mean the object is suppose to print in 3 hours and 45 minutes (estimated in repetier host) but once I start printing it, it says the eta is like 22 hours and it increases further into the print. I'm using repetier host, slic3r and octoprint. I've checked my settings and they are fine. I've already printed one with the same exact settings except I changed the infill up 10%. Any help appreciated.
Also, I have a screenshot if that helps.

Re: Printing Super Slow
So i just tried ketil's slic3r settings viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20 but they don't even work. So what I'm guessing is there's something wrong with either octoprint or the firmware in my 3d printer. But I still don't see how that could've happened, I haven't really changed any settings.
Re: Printing Super Slow
have you tried to shut down your pi and reboot it. octoprint is good but i have found it to get a little glitchy once in a while. also reboot the rambo while doing the pi. just the reset button on the front. i highly doubt something is corrupt in the firmware but stranger things have happened.
Re: Printing Super Slow
Octoprints initial time estimations seem to be close but can get goofy on long prints. I usually just use s3ds time estimate as it is always close enough for my needs. It will be done when it's done.

Re: Printing Super Slow
It's just the time estimate that's slow, not the actual print, right?
All time estimates are garbage and OctoPrint's especially so. There's been some activity on improving it, but what you get depends on which version you're running. It just got confused. As jimc said, if it bothers you try restarting OctoPrint. I don't think you need to bother with restarting the printer, the estimate is entirely OctoPrint's doing.

Re: Printing Super Slow
Thanks jimc! It worked! I should have done that first thing.
But thanks anyways everybody else who replied.

Re: Printing Super Slow
I said it too soon. The first print printed fine but now it started doing it again and I can't get it to stop even if I restart the computer and all (I'm using a mini laptop instead of a raspberry pi) . Any idea what I should do? It's litterally taking like 10 minutes to print one solid layer. Thanks.
Re: Printing Super Slow
Post the GCode as a .zip file please.

Re: Printing Super Slow
Okay, so I connected my printer directly to my laptop and it still moves slow. So it's got to be something to do with the g code. it stopped printing slow the whole time but it still prints slow on 1 or 2 layers which increases the print time by like 20 minutes. I'm going through my slic3r setting thoroughly, anyways thanks for your help so far.
