arduino 1.6.1 and marlin 1.02

Post by PcS » Fri Jul 17, 2015 2:25 am

so i flashed my printer with this combo to try it out and have a working printer except for the custom M108 to turn the fans on. Can anybody enlighten me on the additions to marlin to get this running ?

M108 is a non-standard (as if anything about gcode could be considered "standard") extension put in by MakerGear.

Marlin has the option of setting a temperature at which to turn on an extruder fan. I would enable that in the configuration file instead, as it is more foolproof.

Be aware that it's not recommended to use Arduino 1.6+ due to some unknown issue that causes print slanting....

Thanks ! I will look into that setting I remember seeing it. I thought it was causing shifted layers ? On the plus side the print so far looks good and is at 80mms on petg. I usually have to print at 50....fingers crossed . :D

Don't use Arduino 1.6.x ... use 1.5.x. The 1.6 version will cause random skips in your prints.

I'm serious.
