i have a spool of this here. i did some of the testing on it awhile back and it seemed very nice. ill give a report once i have some settings and print time with it. its a modified polycarb.
also got a spool of the opaque red petg as well

Oh really? Haha, I was like...how did I manage to miss an entire section!
Anyway, another print going right now, let's see how this goes (different part, but I printed one with the old profile too).

WOW. Wow. That made a HUGE difference..thank you guys so much for catching that! My test print looks just as good as one I made of PLA a while back, literally one or two strings on the outside, and the (4) through holes came out perfectly clean. This might be the all-around, general purpose filament I've been hoping for.
Next up will be improving the surface of supported areas, and I had a test set up...except my extruder motor mount just cracked in half..and I am an idiot who never printed myself any spare parts over 3 years. Field repair time! Are there any improved from stock versions or is the R2 version the best bet?

take some acetone or epoxy and glue yours back together so you can print another. here is an stl for a beefier extruder mount without the hole where it commonly cracks. print this abs at 70-80% infill. i have never broken one of these.

on top of the acetone, put a hefty zip tie (or two) around the whole mount, for good measure

Turns out I had this tiny little C-Clamp at the bottom of my tool box that was perfect band-aid. No muss, fuss or waiting! Thanks for the quick aid though, much appreciated.
Interesting though, as I think we might be getting to the point where metal may be appropriate with the V4 since the motor and hot end are now divorced; you can see and feel the motor mount flex in the Y-plane when it's transitioning between extrude and retract (now that I have functioning amounts of retraction

). Mounting bolts were tight (mount broke when I was putting the motor back on after checking as it were), only thing it could be is the plastic deflecting.

90% infill might be as good as metal
