Good deal! Forums are easier than Google groups IMHO.

Section suggestions:

General 3D Printing Discussion
Tech Support
How-to/Guides/Tips
Model / Object Sharing
Printed Object Showcase

Other ideas, just spewing some things I've seen around other popular boards:

- Model/Object Sharing and Printed Object Showcase seem slightly redundant, maybe confusable; what about a Showoff Section for pretty pictures, and a Project Log/Modification/Upgrade section for ongoing prints and printer-based projects like enclosures and such?

- Separate section for the "legacy" printers dating before M2?

- Off-Topic Banter, Regional and/or Event and Gathering areas?

Very excited for this! I hope it drives more activity and keeps things more organized, glad to be a-board. :D

ill second the last 2 suggestions.

the object showcase is for us to show off the cool prints we did and the object sharing i think is just for sharing of the models. so we would post stl's kinda like thingiverse. i think it might be best to have it separated as it is but if its so we can find models easier but if it ends up not being heavily used then combined as travis said would work too. any way its done though will be great imo. just glad to see it happening :)

I'd like an "Applications" section, where people can post about what they're doing with their prints. Might be some overlap with the "Show off" section but lots of times the prints aren't the point so much as what they enable to be done.

I think I posted the following in the wrong place. It seems to fit better here..

Rick... Some suggestions for more categories:
1. Important information from MakerGear - all of the sticky topics you have on the Google Group such as the static electricity mod, Makergear product sales info, How to guide, etc... A section where only MakerGear can start topics. This might be a good place to list areas where MG would like the MG community to help with development in some way or another. Sales, product announcements, in the news, etc...
2. Printer modifications - basically a summary of any mods we've made to our printers including how and why.

Add the Modifications Category.

Hope to work on moving the 'sticky' topics this weekend or early next week.
