New M2 Kits
Re: New M2 Kits
Does anyone have any idea on when they will have any new kits in? What about the ones on Amazon? Are they the most recent generation?

Re: New M2 Kits
Amazon says they ship directly from MG, so you will be getting the most up to date version. That is also why there is a couple days delay, so they can transfer the order to MG. MG has these in stock at all times for the most part from what we are hearing on the forum.
FWIW, I'd order direct from MG, as Amazon will charge you sales tax now, at least they do for my state, yours may vary, but it saves $120 in NC to get it direct from MG.

I'm finally back to where I started two days ago!

Ah okay thanks. I figured Amazon ships directly from MG but I wasn't sure since MG says they're out of stock.. but Amazon say they have some.willnewton wrote:Amazon says they ship directly from MG, so you will be getting the most up to date version. Re: New M2 Kits
I knew I heard my name! I do have an M2 for sale and it is assembled! It came as a kit that I assembled. Because it was a kit, it comes with some cool tools and extra fasteners they sent along. I forgot to mention this in the post but included is the assembly manual and some other documents I had printed out to aid in my assembly.
Why the need for the kit? (I'm just curious)

Re: New M2 Kits
I was mostly looking for a kit for the experience building it but I can't say the price reduction isn't nice.
Re: New M2 Kits
We do not sell kits on Amazon (never did) - just to be clear.
Kits are on the radar but I do not have a date they'll be available...it will be a while. Also, when they are available again they are going to be serious kits. We are not not going to pre-assemble part of it. It will be a box of parts and a list of fasteners to order from McMaster (or supplier of your choice). And, we will not provide kit assembly support as that is one of the reasons we are not offering kits at the moment. So, kits will be for serious kit builders only. Make sense?

Re: New M2 Kits
I built mine from the kit for the experience so I completely sympathize with you. Although hindsight is 2020 and knowing what I know now, I would buy another 'partially' assembled kit like I did but I don't think I would go completely ground up like rpollack is mentioning will be the new norm.
Normal use of this printer and really dialing it in will grant you this experience in my opinion. While it's not building it per say, it is maintaining and tweaking to get every little bit of performance out of the printer. But the way this printer is built is really raw and allows modifications (new extruder heads and components, etc.)

Sounds like the used market for M2's just got a boost.rpollack wrote: Also, when they are available again they are going to be serious kits. We are not not going to pre-assemble part of it. Re: New M2 Kits
Oh! Okay I had no idea a "kit" was the non-assembled version of the M2. I must have missed that somewhere. I was the one e-mailing you a couple days ago. I went ahead and ordered one off of Amazon. I'm pretty excited! Thanks for all the info.rpollack wrote:We do not sell kits on Amazon (never did) - just to be clear.
