Oh, forgot to mention - if you do get the Amazon stuff - it's a bee-yatch to cut, pick up one of these as well - makes it a lot easier! :D

I cut mine with a pair of good scissors and it worked perfectly. I could never get it to lay flat enough for my liking . I am looking at a better way to glue it down . If I find it I will be running the pei as well.

Do you still offer them?

OK, here's a question: if I'm getting good results printing PLA on bare glass-- cleaned meticulously between prints-- what's the advantage of a PEI bed surface?

(I ask this as someone who has the PEI and tape right here on the desk beside me, uninstalled.)

More reliable bed adhesion? (How hard is it to pop prints off PEI anyway?)

No more meticulously having to clean the glass between prints. That's your only advantage if you currently like what you are doing.

PEI acts like an adhesive that you don't have to keep applying. Keeps prints from warping up at corners if you don't have the gap set perfectly. (And don't forget to sand it first with some superfine grade sandpaper.) Once it cools, prints pop right off.

But if you're not ready, just hang on to it, or apply it to your spare borosilicate. (That's what I did....then wound up switching to that entirely.) :D

AH, see, I didn't know about the "sand it" thing. Thanks!

But can you define "super fine grade": 1200 grit?

Think it's about time to try this PEI... I broke out chucks on 3 different pieces of glass this week running ABS :x Jules did you find the 3M tape for attaching the PEI on amazon too? (if so do you have a link?)

Yeah, automotive grade - (1000 and up.) Actually, a Magic Eraser is just about ideal. (It works by micro-abrasion.)
